Glacier Crossover β’ Khatling Glacier Zone β’ Remote & Serious High Altitude Terrain
Mayali Pass is a remote and challenging glacier crossover trek connecting Ghuttu region to Kedarnath side via Khatling Glacier, with a steep & committing ascent to Mayali Pass (~5,000 m).
The route moves through scree slopes, broken moraine fields, snow plateaus and crevasse-risk glacier zones where judgement, pacing and acclimatization discipline are critical. Weather can shift rapidly and summit movement is usually done early morning while snow remains stable.
Campsites are isolated and exposed β cold winds, long silent valleys and vast glacier surroundings. This trek is for trekkers who truly understand high-altitude terrain.
The approach begins from Ghuttu region with gradual altitude gain toward Khatling side before the pass climb.
