Gangotri Glacier • Tapovan Meadow • Mt. Shivling Base
The Gomukh Tapovan Trek is one of the most iconic high–altitude treks in Uttarakhand, taking trekkers to the snout of the Gangotri Glacier (Gomukh) and further up to Tapovan meadow — the base of Mount Shivling.
The trail moves through open valley terrain, glacier moraine sections and vast alpine meadows, offering grand views of Bhagirathi Peaks, Meru and Shivling. This trek is ideal for trekkers who want a challenging and deeply spiritual Himalayan experience.
The trek begins from Gangotri temple town situated along the Bhagirathi river valley.
